Rehwa Society is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Maheshwar in the state of Madhya Pradesh in Central India. The town is home of India’s finest handloom fabric traditions. and is famous for its exclusive Maheshwari weaving technique, which is renowned throughout the country.
With several exhibitions around India every year, their textiles gain a greater appeal. With the profits, they aim at supporting local weavers by providing employment and a regular income. Furthermore, they provided housing in form of ‘Ahilya Vihar Colony’ which was specifically built for the weavers. Ahilya School provides the weaver’s children with primary and secondary education.
